We will drive to the top (1150 meters) of the volcano. After a quick trip to the scientific station explore this impressive volcano on a guided walk. The well-kept Crater Trail (1.5 km) leads you around the crater through dense cloud forest. Pass by several fumaroles and enjoy spectacular views overlooking Granada, Las Isletas, Laguna de Apoyo and the Masaya Volcano. Be sure to keep an eye out for the howler and white face monkeys as well as the endemic Mombacho salamander. Next you will enjoy a tour through the coffee plantations and take part in the process of Café Las Flores. Learn about the many steps that go into making a superb cup of coffee, from planting to picking to processing. Join us in exploring and discovering the famous city of Granada, established in 1524 by the Spaniard Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba, the oldest colonial city on mainland America and considered one of the prettiest cities in Latin America. What can be more fantastic that doing it by carriage like colonial times, visit relevant sites and colonial buildings as well as the San Francisco Convent and Church founded in 1524, which preserves some of the most interesting indigenous ceramic and statue collections. You will hear stories from real pirates, like the infamous Henry Morgan, and their adventures to civil war stories that burned toashes, sacked and destroyed the city several times. We will also visit archeological treasures from Isla Zapatera, a primitive art exhibit and historical display, La Polvora Fort, a warehouse built in 1748 to keep gunpowder. We will visit its old towers, which give you a beautiful view of the city. Xalteva Church and walls: Here the Spaniards met the Indigenous Xalteva population, from which it gets its name. This is the most antique part of Granada. The church was built during colonial times and because of its location, it was also used as a military fort. End your trip at Marina Cocibolca where you will take a boat to Jicaro lodge.Lunch is included.

Masaya Highlights, Volcano, Handicrafts Market & Monimbó Indigenous community
This transfer starts with your pick up at Managua airport. On route you will stop at one of the most active volcanoes in Nicaragua, the Masaya Volcano. The Masaya Volcano National Park comprises an area of 54 km² and includes two volcanoes and five craters. The volcanoes have erupted several times in history, and were feared by both the indigenous people and the Spanish conquerors. The Spanish baptized the active volcano "La Boca del Infierno" or "The Mouth of Hell". Next, head over to the town of Masaya, famous for its handicrafts and artists. You will visit Masaya’s Art market where you will observe arts and crafts from all around the country.
Finally before heading to your final hotel destination, we will make a last stop at the Monimbó historic Neigh-bourhood, an old indigenous center with a community that still preserves several ancestral traditions, is situated South of the central park. Monimbó has its own authorities, such as the 'Alcalde de Vara' (mayor) and a 'Consejo de Ancianos' (Council of Elders). This neighbourhood is part of the historical urban center and features a lot of art workshops which you will have time to explore.

We will also visit San Juan de Oriente craft village, where we observe the process of ceramics based on clay, and finally we head to Catarina where we have a beautiful panoramic view of the Laguna de Apoyo, which is one of the most pristine lagoons in Nicaragua. The lagoon was created when a volcano erupted hundreds of thousands of years ago. The viewpoint of Catarina is one of the highest hills surrounding the Apoyo Lagoon, and the view from there is superb. You can see the whole lagoon as well as Lake Nicaragua behind it! Continue on route to your final destination.
