Learn how coffee was discovered, traded and consumed, then stroll the lanes of our organic sustainable coffee plantation and learn the entire process of organic cultivation and harvest, including participating in the picking of coffee during our harvest season (Oct- Jan.)
Then we will take you through the processing of coffee, including cleaning the berries and drying the coffee, ending with roasting coffee in our Roasting and Packing House. Learn how the experts discern and rate gourmet coffee by participating in a “coffee cupping” session with our knowledgeable guides.

Guests will be transferred to Arenal in a helicopter. The helicopter will fly over the three most impressive volcanoes in Costa Rica. We will start the trip flying over Poas Volcano National Park, an active volcano with one of the largest craters on Earth. Afterwards we will fly over Irazu Volcano which has a massive crater with a mystical green lagoon surrounded by jagged rocks. Finally we will fly over Arenal Volcano National Park and its surrounding small towns. The volcano´s perfectly symmetrical shape is really impressive!
Finally we will land at La Fortuna, from where guests will be transferred to their hotel!

This afternoon visit the Arenal Volcano Nat Park. Before the active period of 1968, a lavish canopy of vegetation covered the Arenal Volcano. People that climbed Arenal’ s summit related that inside the crater there were big trees and at night, they slept in places where there was some heat due to small steam outlets.
Enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a hike along the base and flanks of this giant on the Arenal 1968 park. For this tour we have choose one of the park’s most extraordinary trails to the 1968 lava flows: the remaining memory of the 20th century first eruption and some other areas now in the process of regeneration. We are going to be on this trail for about 2 ½ hours.
The “Colada 68” trail will give you the best of the best hiking over lava flows in all the Arenal Volcano area, walk on rocky areas, feel the power and serenity of nature, enjoy amazing views of the Arenal Lake and the Monteverde mountains, plus an insight contact with the local flora and fauna and a great chance for some birdwatching and animal encounters.
Then visit the volcanic thermal mineral pools at the Tabacon Hot Springs, where you can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak and enjoy of a delicious dinner included

This morning we will head west to the city of Leon. The original city of Leon was established by Spanish conqueror Francisco Hernández de Córdoba in 1523 at the foot of the Momotombo volcano. Unfortunately the volcano exploded in 1610 causing the city to become damaged beyond repair and subsequently abandoned. The ruins of old Leon – Leon Viejo – still lie at the foot of Momotombo. We will visit one of the most popular attractions the 18th century cathedral that is the largest in Central America. Also of interest are the La Merced and the Xalteva churches, the Old Spanish Ammunition Fortress, the San Francisco Convent and the beautifully carved Casa de los Leones. Stop for lunch,
For the more adventurous we can add per request (optional) a trip to Cerro Negro. Accompanied by a Guide / Instructor you will climb Cerro Negro. After a short technical training you will make a short test run inside the crater of Cerro Negro, an then Sand-Board all the way down to the base of Cerro Negro, after which you will be transferred back to Managua.

Today we will head south to Rivas department. On route you will stop to explore and discover the famous city of Granada! Established in 1524 by the Spaniard Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba, Granada is the oldest colonial city on mainland America and considered one of the prettiest cities in Latin America. Along with your private bilingual guide, you will visit relevant sites and colonial buildings as well as the San Francisco Museum, which preserves some of the most interesting indigenous ceramic and statue collections. Your guide will take you into the past to learn about all the issues that involved Granada’s development since the pre-Columbian period. Your guide will share civil war stories and the adventures of the real pirates that once visited and lived in the city.
