Day 01: Arrival: Welcome to paradise

Upon arrival to Managua, a representative of Nicaraguan Trails will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the Elements Hotel Boutique, located at less than 30 minutes from the international airport, an oasis in the city where elegance, modern architecture and style combines to conceive “a one of a kind” atmosphere. The hotel’s privileged location will give you the opportunity to explore the nearby shopping centres, fine restaurants and great entertainment options available.

Day 02: Transfer To Granada, Visit Masaya Volcano & Crafts Market

After a tasty typical breakfast, one of our drivers will meet you at the hotel to take you to the beautiful colonial city of Granada. On route, we will visit one of the most active volcanoes of Nicaragua, the Masaya Volcano, named by the Spaniards the “Mouth of Hell” due to the lava lake that has appear and disappear over the centuries and that can currently be seen. We will continue to the Masaya’s art market and San Juan de Oriente craft village where you will have the chance to admire some of the most beautiful pieces of art coming from all around the country, a perfect opportunity to get a remembrance of your visit. Our last stop before heading to Granada will be at Catarina lookout point where you will have a beautiful panoramic view of the Laguna de Apoyo.

Day 03: Mombacho Volcano & Canopy Tour

This morning you will take part of an adventure like no other taking part of the Mombacho Volcano canopy tour. The Mombacho Volcano is one of the most prominent volcanoes in Nicaragua, located only 10 km from Granada. The ride uphill only is an adventure by itself. The incredible steepness of the volcano guarantees a spectacular ride. Explore a breathtaking view of the tropical forest of the Mombacho Volcano and enjoy an exhilarating Canopy Zip Line Tour while enjoying close contact with nature. This tour is a combination of both Mombacho walking around the crater and Canopy with its 17 platforms - 3 Hanging Bridges - 11 Steel Cables with a height about 25 – 30 meters.

Day 04: Kayaking In Nicaragua Lake

This morning we will take you to enjoy nature at its best while kayaking on the waters of Lake Nicaragua or Cocibolca, one of the ten biggest lakes of the world, admiring the beauty of Granada’s volcanic islands and the nature that surrounds them.

Day 05: Granada City Tour & Chocolate Museum

After breakfast, your private guide will meet you at the hotel to take you to explore and discover the famous city of Granada! Established in 1524 by the Spaniard Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba, Granada is the oldest colonial city on mainland America and considered one of the prettiest cities in Latin America. Along with your private bilingual guide, you will visit relevant sites and colonial buildings as well as the San Francisco Museum, which preserves some of the most interesting indigenous ceramic and statue collections. Your guide will take you into the past to learn about all the issues that involved Granada’s development since the pre-Columbian period. Your guide will share civil war stories and the adventures of the real pirates that once visited and lived in the city.


Also take a tour at Granada’s Chocolate Museum , follow the life of a cocoa been from tree to artisanal chocolate during this 2-hour tour of Granada's Chocolate Museum. Try your hand at making some chocolate and learn about its role in the Nicaraguan economy.

Day 06: Transfer To Morgan’s Rock

Depart to Morgan’s Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge located in the beautiful southern coastline of Nicaragua. Located in an area that covers 4000 acres, nearly half being a private protected reserve, Morgan’s Rock paves way to an authentic experience with nature. The hotel blends its exotic surroundings and secluded location to bring guests peace, harmony, and relaxation of the body and mind. Morgan´s Rock is a 15-bungalow hideaway on a mile-long picturesque sandy beach, frequented year-round by nesting sea turtles. The forested land and reserve hosts a variety of exotic animals including spider, howler and capuchin monkeys, and deer as well as a plethora of native and migrant birds and reptiles.

Day 07: Catch Your Own Mullet, Morgan’s Rock

Catching a mullet can be both fun and challenging. We try to bait them close to us, and then throw a net to try to capture them. The activity is a huge success with children!

Day 08: Monkey Quest, Morgan’s Rock

This day you will take a ride into the jungle in a safari truck 4 x 4 in quest of the 3 types of monkeys typical of the Nicaraguan forest: Howler monkeys which can be heard from a mile away long, the most shy Spider and White face Capuchins.

Day 09: Optional Baby Sea Turtle Tour (Seasonal), Morgan’s Rock

During turtle season, leave a notice at the reception if you would like to be awoken by the night guard should a sea turtle come to the beach to lay her eggs during your stay. The hotel staff will inform you of the possibility of turtle nests hatching (45-47 days after they have been laid) and help us helping them get to their new home! You can see the nests.

Day 10: Departure

After breakfast and according to your international flight schedule, your private transportation will take you to the International Airport for your flight back home.
